Car owned since 2005. One of approximately 150 pre-production demonstrators manufactured in 1977 for dealer evaluations. Body stripped to rust-free bare metal and repainted in Pimento by previous owner. Engine rebuilt with 9.75:1 pistons. KYB gas shocks, stiffer/lower springs, stainless steel exhaust, sun-roof, air conditioning (in place but not working).Prize winner at Roadster Factory summer party and participant award at British Car Day (twice).New beige door panels, re-built seats re-covered in beige vinyl upholstery.

Car owned since 1994. Body repainted green by previous owner. Engine rebuilt in 2001. Upgrades included: Triumph Tune UK supplied special stainless steel valves with reduced seat width and flowed design, Triumph Tune Sprint camshaft (0.408 inch lift), up-rated single valve springs (allows use up to 6000 RPM), cylinder head gas flowed, high compression UK pistons (9.25 to 1), bronze alloy valve guide inserts. Stiffer/ lower springs complete with new shocks and bushings. Header and performance exhaust. New carpet, new door and interior panels, rebuilt seats and new seat covers.

I am the original owner and the car is in near original condition. This car was built in March 1975, one of the first two thousand TR7s built (ACL 1762U). The car was purchased in May 1975.The engine was rebuilt in 1991.The seats were re-built and re-covered in 2003.The car was re-painted (original colour Pimento) in 2009. Car is in excellent condition throughout.

Summary: A “rolling restoration”, with mechanical help from Precision Sportscar, and engine/transmission work by Bill McFarling of Keswick. Parts from Rimmer Brothers, Obsolete Automotive, Jigsaw Racing, British Autosport, Peninsula, McGregor, Mayfair Plating and the Plating House. Overview: rebuilt suspension front and rear (new shocks all round and new rear spring), steering, brakes (o/s GT6 rear wheel cylinders) and rebuilt differential. Refinished interior including seats, dash cap, door cards and carpets. Goodyear 175/70Rx13 tires on Minotor wheels. Factory hardtop restored with new headliner and rubbers (good soft top as well). Electric fuel pump, safety gauge, halogen headlights and UK-spec signal lights. Engine "hot-rodded" and Ford T-9 five-speed transmission installed. Re-chromed bumpers and luggage rack with front UK-spec under-riders. Fresh paint and hardened clearcoat ready to buff. Details: a) NOS Head decked, ported & polished and port-matched to manifolds. Unleaded valve seats, 3-angle valve job and o/s stainless valves (IN 1.438”, EX 1.232”). Double valve springs with new rockers on new shaft. External rocker oil feed installed. New oil pump. b) cc’d combustion chambers. Twin HS4 (1.5”) SU’s rebuilt by Blain Hughes, with needles of MGB spec - breathes like an 1800 c.c. motor. Monza exhaust on tubular header. c) Block resurfaced, align-bored and honed for 0.040” o/s hi-comp pistons. Rods and pistons balanced. All new main, rod and cam bearings. d) Piper “285” Fast Road Cam installed/degreed. New followers/pushrods. GT6-spec duplex sprockets and chain. e) Pertronix electronic ignition, pressure-regulated electric fuel pump. Custom aluminum 4-row radiator (Wizard Cooling of Buffalo NY). f) Ford T-9 five-speed transmission (x-Merkur) fully rebuilt then installed using Jigsaw Racing conversion kit (hand carried back from the UK). g) Front and rear bumpers removed and re-chromed, along with luggage rack. UK-spec front under-riders to be installed. h) Re-finished body paint including 2-pack clear-coat -ready to buff out. Re-install bumpers and it’s ready to go!
