President’s Message – January 2022

President’s Message – January 2022

Happy New Year everyone … and let’s hope that 2022 will give us the chance to get together at in-person meetings, Spring Fling, British Car Day® and all the many other car-related activities that we’ve had to forgo for the past couple of years.

The latest COVID variant seems to be everywhere right now so our first meeting of the year will be via Zoom.   Terence McKillen will be hosting the annual Toronto Triumph Quiz on Tuesday 18th January and the theme will be Ancient and Modern Britons … here’s Terence’s first slide:

It seems that we have the same 3 experts that walk off with the winnings most years so let’s hope we have some new winners in ’22 to win the fabulous prizes on offer.  Last year Wayne McGill, Glen Donaldson and Tony Fox topped the charts with impressive scores therefore your mission is to bone-up on everything-to do-with-Brit-cars and give this trio some competition.  I will send out all the meeting details in a week or so, but in the meantime please mark your calendars for this important date.

Our first British Car Day®planning session is scheduled for mid-January when the team will start the ball rolling on organizing this brilliant event … after all it’s only 260 days away and we have lots to do!

Despite the current Omitron virus trends I think we can all begin to look to the future with some optimism.  We’ve learned a lot over the past 2 years and now that most of us have received our booster shots hopefully we can get back to normal, or at least something like normal, before too long.

All the very best wishes to you and your family for a happy and healthy 2022 and I do hope that we’ll see you soon … firstly on Zoom and as things improve face-to-face.

Best regards; Dave
