President’s Message – March 2024

President’s Message – March 2024

Happy March!

As this email arrives in your inbox I am almost back to the land of ice and snow, though it hasn’t been a bad Toronto February from what I’ve read. Our first snowbird excursion has been fun and most of the days have been very comfortable with highs around 16-19 C.

I missed a massive turnout for Matt Molson’s shop visit on the 17th. I want to thank Matt and his family for putting on a wonderful event. Here are a couple of photos for those who weren’t able to make it…

Drive Your Triumph Day took place on the 20th. A total of 673 photos were submitted from around the world; this was down a little from the 748 photos submitted in 2023. Many Club members participated in the event and a few of them sent me photos. All of the photos have been posted to the Triumph Travellers website (https://bit.ly/49JVFs7) – you can use the search feature to look for your, and other cars by name, city, etc… Photos are also posted to their Facebook group (https://bit.ly/3wlCLcw).

Here are a few of the photos that I received…

Art Lee’s TR6
Fernando Caicedo working on his TR6
Elaine Heaton’s shot of Rob Draper in their TR4
Rob Ragsdale’s TR6
Dawn Cant Elliott’s Spitfire
Vickie and Chris Tank’s Stag

TTC members who received a BCCI long-distance award for 2023 are:

  • Richard Tisdale: 5517 miles in his TR250
  • J.P. Rapattoni: 5385 miles in his Spitfire 1500
  • Marg Edwardson: 3614 miles in her TR6
  • Sylvain and Liz Demers: 3609 miles in their TR6
  • Robin Searle: 3274 miles in his Stag
  • Derek McAllister: 3003 miles in my TR6

Congratulations to all recipients!
